Hey Everyone,
After we have solved all the technical problems working together with the fellows at Armor Games, and the playtesting is also done, we have agreed on setting the release date to February, the 17th.
To those players who still believe that the game will be released, thanks for the supportive comments.
For all the others, let me share some of my thoughts them with you.
Obviously you have no idea at all of how much blood and sweat is put into this game, and that I work overtime (literally all the waking hours minus household tasks and eating, so cca 14 hours a day) to give you GCL. It’s funny that I get hundreds of emails and comments _demanding_ a release date, and when I give one and fail to keep it (and while the game gets closer, it alwas turns out that a few more weeks, then a few more days, are still needed), I get all the hate and this blog becomes Flamewar Central. The other funny thing is, you want me to cater for you and answer your hate comments, and at the same time finish the game by yesterday (or a year ago), and of course it should be free and without ads, and with all the features you want, and with a beta test, and on CD in retail stores. There’s also no use in visiting this blog three times a day and telling how frustrated you are when you see the game isn’t out yet. GCL will be released on Armor Games first, not this site, I told that many times already, no need to visit here. And if you are afraid that you won’t get the latest news, subscribe to the RSS feed, or follow us on Twitter or Facebook, and you will be automatically notified about new blogposts.
By now I hate to visit our own blog and see what were you barking at me lately. Originally, I wanted to make a news board where you could get the latest news about our games, but it became something else, for which I don’t have the time, the energy and the nerves to cater for.
I was thinking about making this decision for weeks, I know some of you’ll hate me even more, but it’s the only way to keep my sanity in the long run:
From now on, this blog will become a “newslog”, comments will be disabled.
If you like our games, play them, if you don’t, then don’t, but don’t love me or hate me. If you want to express your wrath in various funny ways, go and hate me somewhere else, there are tons of forums all over the net where you can do that.
A few final words before the release: If you find any errors in the game, please write to the email address “contact at gameinabottle dot com”, I don’t promise to answer everyone, but I will read all the mails and try to fix any errors as soon as possible.
A big Thanks again for all those players who believed in us all along the way and who see GemCraft as it is, a game, nothing more or less.
Have a great weekend, and a happy Valentine’s day, and then on Thursday, have a great time exploring the Labyrinth!
