Hey Everyone,
Here is our holiday gift for you!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2JU11SuCkc
Sorry for not replying to your comments for the past few days, I was busy making the video. But now, finally, here it is, we hope you like it! ๐
And the release date:
GemCraft Labyrinth will be released in January, 2011.
(if you need an exact release date, then January 31, but probably a few days earlier.)
Some of the things will look different in the game, the gameplay will be slower on normal speed than it is in the video (I don’t know why, but it became too fast during the recording). There are some things in the vid that I haven’t talked about yet, I will write more about the game in the first days of January.
We wish you a great holiday and a new year full of great game releases! ๐

Looks awesome, can’t wait!
Also, first!
Looks amazing, and like a complete evolution of the gemcraft concept.
Bring it on!
Soo stoked!!! Yay!!
Looks epic. Liked the music, picture capture, and of course the product.
You look set to make a milestones for Online Games, TD Games, Kong, and Armor Games, more and more.
Looks amazing.
Did anyone see anything new that hasn’t been commented on yet?
What do you mean?
Do you mean comments, or Peters blogs?
It’s pretty hard to miss any information here, so I guess no anyway.
I mean things that we haven’t talked about on here. I was watching the video second by second but was trying to see if there was anything new that hasn’t been mentioned on the blog.
Oh, I got you. No, I think it has all been more or less discussed, but was now presented in compacted way.
The one think I think needs changing for certain is the release day. If Peter releases the game at the end of January he will find it hard to win Kongregate’s prizes ($2500 for a monthly contest and $500 for weekly).
It would be much better to release 1st of February.
I think with a game of this caliber, he could win that monthly contest with a day’s notice.
Overconfidence + Recklessness = Unexpected and Unpleasant Results Not always, but why risk?
Don’t forget the game may initially be downgraded for the $5 payment.
Yeah, those communists over at Kongregate would rate it -10 if they could because it didn’t pay THEM $5 to play it.
The Kong prize becomes irrelevant compared to the amount he’ll make off the unleashed version.
Even if the prizes are somewhat small, i guarantee that $2500 cash would be great. Especially if he made only $800 from the first two gemcrafts.
The game will first be available on Armor Games, and after a few weeks it will move to Kong too, so that will not be January. We’ll try to avoid the last day of February too.
(GC0 was beaten by Lear to fly (the flying penguin game) on Kong in the last few days of the month back then…)
There’s a game on Kongregate called “Great Game 1/5” No Joke!
http://www.kongregate.com/games/5minutesoff/great-game-1-5
Looks Awesome! ๐
Swarm waves look SCARY!
I just know that this game will be a success no matter when it is released. I would hope that $2500 would be a drop in the bucket. Seriously! 80 million plays for GC0! Are you kidding me?!?
Where are you going with that? Are you going in the line of how much Peter gets per play? If so, he even said that he was got around 800 bucks for 80 million plays, over BOTH GC1 and GC0.
If you are thinking that 80 million different people played it, and will now be willing to pay 5 bucks each, take that number and divide it. By a decent number. Because each of those people have multiple plays. I know that I shut the window down for each game at least 50 times, in saving and quitting, returning later, replays, etc.
Let’s say 5 milion people played it. Let’s say 1 million liked it a lot. Let’s say 200K would pay the $5. That’s $1 million.
OK – let’s say 1 million people played it. Let’s say only 2 % of those paid the $5. That’s still 100,000 USD!
well and ?
wish he get 1 half of what you think he would have ! and will be great !
if he get 10 million weel great he will have a lot of time to make a new better one ๐
Then later when he raises it up to 10 dollars and other people play it lets say 0.5 million people play it and one twentyth of that bought it. that would be an extra 250000$ ๐ .
How many actual players made this gamplay amount, we have no idea.
On how the total income will be like, I have even less clue, but we hope for the best.
80 million (around 80.7 a week ago) plays for GC1 and GC0 combined (MochiBot + Armor Games stats; there are some other sites who block MochiBot or asked us to remove it, and somethimes Mochi skips a few plays, so the actual number is higher, but I don’t know by how much).
To see the movie in slow motion, hold the spacebar
Ok, this is beyond awesome. The only way this could get any more awesome is if the game would be available for download, or on a disk.
Have no fear, I fully intend to pay for the Unleashed. Nothing would make me happier than to see you succeed.
The movie is too fast to gather information on the mechanics of the flash beam shrine – oh well, we’ll just have to see ourselves.
Okay, I’ve got an official ear-to-ear smile over my face ๐
Dude, this is aweso.. (wait, that’s an underestimation…)
Anyone who’s *NOW* saying the game ain’t worth $5 ought to be hunted down by those monsters ๐
what *is* that swarm anyway, army ants? well they sure look so…
and after you destroy the building – is that a shadow/boss coming? (and, does it mean the bosses arrive when you “release” them?)
Oh, and beacons – it would be nice to see some of them in the movie. And with that said, they haven’t really been presented yet (so in a new blogpost, beacons?)
Anyway, great work, guys; I can hardly wait for the game!
Swarm monsters are not smaller and come in larger numbers. ๐
The more gem you drop on a wave, the darker the wave’s monsters get.
On the scene where a monster nest is destroyed, a simple giant monster appears at the bottom, it was already shot before, hence the health bar.
The flying one is not a boss enemy, but a rarely appearing, flying, non-attacking foe that gives a great bonus when killed. It’s called an Apparition.
Beacons: ok, it a later blogpost. ๐
hmm, a “simple” giant, says you? ๐ (then I can’t wait to see the bosses…)
(edit: I just noticed it hit your orb at 0:35, right before the nest goes boom)
as for the “army ants” I was talking about (0:29-0:32) – they appear to be smaller than the monsters at, say, 0:23-0:25 or 0:33-0:34 (though I believe there are creeps of apparently several different sizes in scenes like 0:39-0:41 or 0:46).
so a few things I’m no longer sure of:
1) is it just me, or are there monsters of different sizes in GCL?
2) is the “ants” wave at 0:29-0:32 a “proper” swarm or just a seriously angered “ordinary” wave?
..I got confused a bit…..
Hello there Peter! I don’t know if you’ll remember me, we talked through email in Sep’08… wow, now that I stopped to think about it, it’s been like forever! Anyway, I just yesterday “discovered” the blog, and been reading through the archives since. It’s great to see you guys haven’t “died out” and quit making games, specially the Gemcraft series!
A couple things reading through the archives caught my attention like the explaining about beta testing and donations/payments on Jul 10th blogpost. Like… is this new Gemcraft Labyrinth flash like the others? I bought a couple months ago another TD game, dunno if it was made in flash, but was a stand-alone software, fullscreen capabilities and all. Would be awesome to have all that on the new GCL (I know, I’m a little late for suggestions =p )
Oh yea, about your first post, you said you were working on a base builder/shooter game… back then, on the emails, you mentioned you were making a “breakout variant” game you descibred back then, how did that came out? Or was that one of the projects you dropped?
And by the way, congratulations on the marriage, back then you told me it was “we make these games and the site with my girlfriend, this is our full-time “job”” (your exact words, quoted) ๐ alas, back then, on an email dated 8/22/08 you said “Visit our site again in a month or so, our breakout game should be up by then!” (yeah, I digged up the emails =p ) so what happened? I don’t see the game anywhere around… saddens me to think that the project may have been blown =(
I haven’t had the chance to check out the GCL video (currently @ work, using a crappy 3G/Edge connection that will eat my liver if I access youtube), but it’ll be first thing when I get home! =D the idea around GCL reminds me of a fan-made map on Warcraft 3, I don’t remember the name now, but the point was: creeps move from one checkpoint to the next, and your objective is to build a maze of stones and gems around it, killing all the creeps before they get to the end. Alas, a lot of Warcraft 3’s fan-made TD maps reminds of GCL, about making walls, building labyrinths (this even reminds me of Desktop Defender), upgrading walls to towers… but nothing like GC itself =)
geez, this got huge. Hope you get the time to read, and that you still remember =p Great to see you guys, and GiaB alive and kicking! And you bet I’ll be getting that full version of GCL! Heck, if I could afford and you guys had time, I’d even want a customized intro for my blog to put the free version there =D
Can’t wait till Jan! And as always, my best regards for you two! =D
Hey Johnny,
Yes, we’ve got married since then, thanks! ๐
The breakout game was abandoned because tests proved it unplayable, I tried this and that to change it, but if remained very frustrating to play, so now it’s in the archives. Maybe I’ll give it another (and another) try later.
The base builder/shooter game is on hold, but we’ll probably roll it on.
I still haven’t tried it yet, but playing flash games in full screen is rumored to be possible with Firefox plugins like Flash Game Maximizer.
Belive it or not (and it’s a shame I know), I haven’t played that WC3 fan made map, rumored to be the grandmother of all TD games… First I saw the maze building feature in DTD, then in “Defense Grid: The Awakening”, and having freely roaming monsters was a long-missed feature from GC, so now they are here. ๐
sorry for taking so long, I forgot to bookmark and register the feed =p glad to know you remember! =D
so… I wasn’t thinking about some plugin or making the in-browser flash being capable of full screen, but more like you mentioned on the next reply, like a stand-alone game. One example of “once-flash-then-standalone” would be Super Meat Boy.
oh, anda bout the Warcraft 3 TD, there were two I remembered: one was GemTD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHxbg0lQSFQ http://www.epicwar.com/maps/22972/ and the other was YouTD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMyD6q7a0wU http://www.eeve.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=2493 – this one was, for me, a MAJOR game that should be turned into a standalone… don’t even remember how many nights I’ve spent playing it – even more than both Gemcraft!
oh yeah, me back again, after reading the comments on this page… following my question about if this will be a browser-only game, or if the full version would be a stand-alone program, in the second case, why not release the game on Steam? That would really be AWESOME.
I’m pretty sure Steam doesn’t accept flash games… There are a few ways to ocnvert flash files to real standalone software (the latest and most official solution is Adobe Air), but still, it will be a flash game at its core.
Anyway, I’ll read through their requirements one day.
Dont put it only on steam please. Try those other digital distribution media as well.
by no means I’d meant to distribute it ONLY on Steam, sorry if I got you scared there pbhead! =p I don’t really like when games get only one distribution… like on Impulse. Most of their games are tagged US+Can only. That sucks so much! =/ I live in Brazil, and so… there are a couple games from Impulse that I’d love to buy, but I can’t coz they won’t let me.
Peter, if not GCL, maybe the next GC (or the shooter/builder, or any other) could be not flash? The only “problem” for me with flash games is like when I’m travelling or at work, and my 3G/Edge connection sucks. Like today, I’ve spent like 3 hours trying to just LOAD GC0! And a standalone installed on my notebook wouldn’t suffer like that, you know what I mean? =)
After two weeks on Steam I’d say it’s a must, gather 100 achievements and compare them with other players. Also, maxing rankings would be much more tempting :]
My only exam is exactly at 31st January morning, so please, please do not release it any earlier or I will be lost forever.
The games you produce seem so much far ahead of the flash game market in terms of scale and replayability. I still find myself playing chapter zero.
Oh man I’m so excited I can taste it!! That looks awesome, I can’t wait to play it in the near future. The fact that there’s actually a release date not makes it that much more tangible. It looks amazing, keep up the great work Peter, and happy Holidays to you too.
—-Specialy for Peter—-
Peter.. You shocked me. Iยดm really schocked of your attitude to players. You have got tons of work and you still reply for playerยดs questions + make new post with ingame pictures and info. Someone wrote that in-game video could be nice to have before chrismas like chrismas present….
You made it. WOW !!!
Iยดm keen player of GCO. I finished it severaltimes different way. I got over 8 trillion score at n.78 map.
Anyway Iยดm also a computer programmer. I know that last part of programming is the most problematic and unpredictable.
Please everyone be really patient with release date. Noone on Earth can say when program will be done.
-free/unleashed version: I definitely agree with your way of earn money. ($5/10 is like nothing) Money are at first place of everything.
Iยดm definitely sure this payment system bring you a lot of money.
(just remmind: 80gameplayes of GC1, GCO)
People LOVE competition as you perfectly know. The most of players of flash games are childern. The most of them has off limits to pay for games. (PCยดs games) by paretns. I have to agree with those parents.
Very hude percentage of those childers wonยดt play unleashed version. Noone of them wonยดt reach so big score like someone who will has unleashed version. No doubt.
Theyยดll sad of this.
My suggest is to implemenate unlocking unleashed ver. from free by long term playing of free version. (something what is very hard to reach. for instance 1 000 000 kill or anything similar long term goal)
Love Christmas for everyone
Hey Honza! You found the blog…
There are different options available to Peter to allow people to acquire the game without actually “paying”. For example, Mochigames allows you to earn Mochicoins by doing surveys, which can then be used to buy aspects of the game. (see Bloons Tower Defense for more information). No doubt, an alternative method of paying for the game is desirable.
It is in Peter’s best interest to not disappoint these fans. It is quite possible that if there was an alternative method to earn the Unleashed, more players would be able to acquire the game. These players all have the ability to spread the word about Gemcraft to their friends, over the internet, etc. and tap into more audiences.
Hey Honza,
Thanks, sometimes I feel I’m neglecting the community (when not replying for a couple of days), but I try to catch up.
Einfach’s right, Mochi offers some options for those who don’t want to pay, to fill out surveys and other stuff, but they can also but MoneyPaks in retial stores (and Mochi has something similar too), so really no credit/debit card needed.
neglecting? I have to agree with Honza, I’ve never seen such availability from ANY other developer ๐ you KICK ASS man! =D
Please don’t release it too early, or I will fail my exams in January. ๐
Thank you!!!OH my God! Iยดm already addicted…I want it now!!! ^^ But…I guess you sped the videos up after recording, or otherwise…youยดve got incredible fast mouse skills…
The game was playing and recorded at 4 fps, and then set back to 30 fps in the final video. I had to do this because the recording sofware made the whole pc lagging, and it skipped many frames, making the final video laggy too.
youtube isn’t working for me.;(.Could you maybe put on this website.
Move to democratic country, dude
… i live in america!:) ๐
are you using a 64 bit browser?
no.my 4 computers have are using a 128 bit browser.
128 bit browser? whats that? :O
It doesn’t seem possible to be using a 128 bit browser. There are no 128 bit processors that I know of. even Intel’s old Itanium was still only 64 bit I believe.
Otherwise you mean something else.
heh, he means that he has 4 computers each running 32-bit browser(s), so this makes a “total” of 128 bits ๐ it’s like video cards with 6-8 memory processors claiming they have a 384-bit or 512-bit memory bus, which in fact consists of several independent 64-bit buses.
Actually, where I work (power plant) to communicate with the state ISO, we have to use a 128 bit encryption browser, which is some old Netscape 4.78 version & a pita to set-up w/certs. I dunno if it’s really a 128 bit deal, but thought I’d add my two cents ๐
Btw, can’t wait for this game to come out. I’d pay extra to get it early, as a matter of fact. Email me Peter! lol
Peter, this is freaking awesome. As are you! I love that you take the time to respond to folks while programming. I know how hard that can be (even if it provides some gratification :).
I agree with every accolade you got above. I will also line up to put in my 5$ (and maybe more if you have a donations option).
However, one comment I do have … Did you purposely post yourself getting your butt kicked at your own game? I saw a lot of baddies running into the end zone there … ๐
It wasn’t intentional, I had to rerecord the scenes so many times that in the end I was happy there were no info panels covering what I wanted to show. So I didn’t care for the monsters, but hacked in enough mana to survive instead. ๐
HACKER!!!
Meh, ima being unfair. I often haveto hack the game to slow it down so that it is playable with 1000+ monsters and 100+ max refire rate gems… (the lag is UNBEARABLE) (hopefully the pause button eleminates this problem)
Mouse recorder too.
But thats not cheating.
What is cheating… is using the mana hack… so you can play the game on a single level 250ish times to unlock all 512ish waves in *spoiler* mode. (we are somewheres around wave 300 so far… :-/)
Peter, what do you consider cheating in Gemcraft Chapter 0?
Using Speedhack to combat lag (if your computer becomes unresponsive because of lag)
Using Speedhack to slow the game so you have more time to build RO supergems. This is different from the last example because you have more time than is humanly possible.
Using Macros that record in real-time so that you don’t get carpal tunnel syndrome.
Using Macros that can perform an action almost instantaneously without lag. This allows one to build damage faster than is humanly possible.
Any combination of the above when trying to go for the biggest possible score
Any combination of the above when trying to complete all 228 waves (there is a difference because some people might consider this cheating but the score not because this challenge is possible without Speedhack / Macros, whereas the other is not).
What about a mana hack to unlock waves in *spoiler* mode? The end result is simply more unlocked waves, no increase in score or anything.
What about a hack to set hp to 1 in *spoiler* mode to unlock waves? Is this cheating?
Please specify at which point something becomes illegitimate, if at any point. Obviously, using the mana hack to get the best possible score, or using any of the above to accomplish what wouldn’t be possible with Speedhacked / Macros is cheating, but what about this grey area?
I hope you have time to read this comment.
soez. new things.
1. big floating evil thing that doesnt stay on path because it floats.
2. blue things in ground that are in ground and are blue and most likely do something.
CANT WAIT.
Also, anyone else notice how large the mana pool is?
oh, and towers attack… other towers! YES!
Well, not really, that must be a mistake if they do ๐ but yes, they officially attack other buildings now.
I think some of the mana pool is so that he can demonstrate things.
One other thing I noticed is that amplifiers don’t grant the effect of the gem to towers. They just do damage, range, and the other stuff like that.
1. That’s an apparition, it doesn’t attack, rarely appears and floats through the scene, gives a huge bonus when killed, gets stronger the next time.
2. They are mana shards, mana can be harvested from them until they get depleted. Most stages won’t have these, some will have 1-2, and a few stages will have lots of them (like in the video).
Mana pool: it was raised so that I could focus on recording the gameplay and not being killed at once. ๐
Wth?!
I’ve been waiting for it for years! Thought it would be Chasing Shadows, but still it isn’t. Found this page by accident… I must be a horrible fan of yours =^=
apparently Chasing Shadows is planned… for next!
(just like when he completed gemcraft 1… lolz)
Yes, now I just hope I won’t change my mind again to make another one before GC2… but currently GC2 is planned to be the next one again.
that swarm was REALLY nice, but there’s also a wide maze that allow grouping those swarm monsters, so in a determined game it will be less spectacular, but still awesome. And, am I right that at 0:50 there was a kind of a superboss slowly crawling to the wizard orb?
It probably was a shadow…
No, it wasn’t, shadows will be more evil. ๐
It was a harmless apparition, hard to kill, appearing rarely and randomly, floating through slowly, but not attacking.
Is there any story behind this apparition?
If yes, don’t spoil it for us, the fact it self will suffice.
huh? what was that? Harmless monster flying somewhere? I wonder what other christmas eggs are in the GCL ๐ You haven’t said a thing about them so far.
I’m speechless after watching the trailer.
My only comment is that I return to school at the early February, so I’ll only play GCL on weekends. Terrible.
Well, I wish everyone a merry xmas and a happy new year. And a great score at GCL. =)
lucky.i return at January 3rd 2011.
In Brazil December and January are vacation months. Officially, my classes were supposed to end today, but I finished all my works and tests before last week. We also have a break during July, something like two weeks.
I’m not that glad with this release date because I’ll study doubled in 2011, as I’m going to start my Chemistry Technician studies, by the same time I do High School (which we call here ‘Medium Studies’). Result: GC only on weekends.
But I’m very happy, the trailer is amazing and much more I was expecting for.
(I’d like to travel to some northern country on Xmas, someday, cause here it is very hot. Terribly hot.)
๐ i found this website one week before the blog came out.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
I WILL DEFINATELY BUY FULL VERSION
same here, the game is gonna be awesome!
release it everywhere possible!
i hope there will be very hard achivments, so you still have challence after a long time of playing
and i hope the infinity skills are usefull even later in the game ๐
oh, btw, merry christmas!
ok since it’s not working for me i will probily ask stupid questains.Anyways do monsters only go the shortest path or do they go anyway they want. ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ :L
They pick the shortest path, but with some randomness – if they have more adjacent fields having the same “distance from player orb” value, they choose randomly, that’s why the creepy black swarm pours into the scene taking many different paths in the video.
I have never paid for an online game but I have to admit I am really considering it.
You guys have given me countless hours of fun with the first two so I think you deserve to make a few bones off the third.
That vid gave me some chills. Looked really cool. Hopefully by the time it comes out I won’t be as cheap as I normally am and I will go ahead and pony up for all the bells and whistles.
Good luck on selling the game. I know it is going to be a tough sell to get people to purchase something they have had for free in the past.
Ha! I could be one of those people.
What will you miss more – the 5 bucks, or the Unleashed version of Gemcraft Labyrinth?
Hey Peter!
Gonna start of by saying that I am REALLY excited about the next installment of GemCraft and all of the amazing features you are adding into it. What I think is the best, is how you’re focusing on making the players happy, and taking our feedback from the other two games and applying it to future ones. Many developers seem to change content more than functionality and are not quite as focused and progressing their game series as a whole like you are.
I only have one suggestion, though. Price the game at $8 instead of $10. Double digits is a lot in a buyer’s eyes, especially when there is a 0 at the end. I would think that if you priced it at $8, then psychologically it will seem like a much better deal and therefore you will get many more purchases. It’s just easier to spend a “few bucks” than it is to spend $10. And I would either keep the early adopter price at $5 or $4.50, cutting a dollar in half also tends to make the consumer feel like they are getting a better deal ๐
At the price of $5, you are going to get about the same number of people paying, I expect. Even if the price were 1 cent, a lot of people wouldn’t pay. Some people just aren’t going to pay for a game. Those who will pay realize this is a better deal than basically any other game they would pay for.
Well certainly, some people just don’t think paying any money is worth it. The point of what I was saying wasn’t about raking in everyone, it was just simple business psychology. Most people who are willing to pay money follow certain trends.
Such as myself, if Amazon is having a sale on PC games, I am much more likely to buy the $9.99 game that I’ve only heard of, than the $19.99 game that I have seen actual game play of and considered buying at a higher price.
$10 and up is in a different category in the mind of the consumer and most people will consider an $8 purchase over a $10 which will get them to buy sooner, rather than mulling it over and having them drop out of the purchase option due to pure inaction. The less the person has to think about whether the realized value is going to be worth the money, the more likely you are to get them to buy. It’s the same basic idea in the Flash Love Letter article where the fewer clicks to the end of the purchase, the more purchases you will get. There are other things that take time that you will lose potential buyers to, such as the actual decision to buy the game so you want to cover as many subtleties as possible ๐
oh god, and I finally saw the trailer… o.o I’m so goddamn f*’ed in 2011 with games… first all these promos at Steam, and January will bring the most awesome TD ever… Peter, you’re my new god =p
oh yeah, forgot to ask… didn’t you had a .zip with all the “old” games available? like GC0 and GC1? =p
I think there still is such a .zip at his “contact us” page
(but I don’t feel like having any right to post a direct link to it, so um….)
dunno what files are inside though (never DL’d it..)
yep, that’s the one. Thanks Matt
just an edit: there’s (evidently) at least two “Matt”s here, + I’m actually Matthew (and even that’s just an english approximate). Then again, it’s the same with all the “Peter”s here. ๐
Anyway, as long as we have different nicknames (and stick to a single name per person), I think we can still tell who’s who.
Any chance we could pre-order to get a Beta copy? I can’t wait for this, it looks fantastic!
in gem td pro you can make a maze, then when the monsters are at the end, you can block the path and delete a tower at the start, and they will go back to the start…you can’t do that in gc2, right?
You can do that in GCL (its not GC2), but only for a limited number of times. This number can be modified by one of the skills. You can find more details in previous blog post
As long as this game has a robust save feature I’ll definitely purchase.
Gemcraft to iphone does not have plans to release?
It may be incredibly popular.
I just got a droid for Christmas.
First thing i did: try to play gemcraft.
Every time i try and drag a gem somewhere, it moves the screen instead. ๐
other than that… it works. rofl.
need alternate control scheme. lol.
Will we be able to buy the game using Mochicoins?
If yes, how many mochicoins will we need?
Sweet stuff here. Thing I like most of all though is that there will be a pouse/action feature (can just hit pouse, make all desired gems possible, resume). Hey, is it possible for you to pach that into GC0 (thus enabling us meare mortals to beat the 228 waves on the last leval), or would the be just to much of a pain in the neck or not possible at all?
*GRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUNT*
:’)
Will we be able to get the full game on newgrounds?
no.
you dont know that.
Only answer my question if you are one of the people who knows this stuff. And by getting the full game on newgrounds, I mean will one be able to buy unleashed and play it on newgrounds, thus enabling us newgrounds users to pay for it once and play it on any computer anywere by logging in? That would be nice. Also, newgrounds medals would be nice. And GrenToast, don’t go making stuff up when obviously you don’t know anything. It just makes you look dumb.
Even if it comes to Newgrounds, it will way after the release of the game. Does that answer satisfy you. Peter very specifically listed the sites the game gets to, and Newgrounds it definitely not on the list.
Don’t get mad, It makes you look dumb. GreenToast deserves more respect.
Yes, your answer satisfies me very much. Where is this list of which you speak?
P.S. – You seem pritty mad youself. And sarcasm makes you look dumb too. So now we all look dumb.
It will go to Newgrounds several weeks after the release. However, I’m assuming that Peter will have a system where you log in to play (maybe…), and in that case, then you will probably be able to play it once it is released on Newgrounds. However, there are always the Armor-games only skills.
No, I wasn’t mad, TheGibonator, but I just through you were tactless. Here we a long lasting member of this community, and all of a sudden you accuse him of being dumb. But your reply is funny.
I suggest you use CtrlF, and search for Newsgrounds here, and on previous blogs. Peter has a habit of answering important questions not in the main post, but in replies to his fans.
Thank you,Bar Ilan. I am tremendously relived that my funniness could compensate for my tactlessness. I have enough enemies already without ANGERING the inhabitants of this great forum (get it?).
I think we’d better BANISH the Gibonator. ๐
Since when did green turn into gren.
Sorry, I have no excuse. When I looked back at my post after posting it I and saw what I had done, believe me I was horrified. Misspelling anotherโs name is not the way of the Gibonator. Henceforth I shall right my posts in word and copy-paste, so thus I may have the benefit of spell-check and avoid this tremendous shame in the future.
something that will make me take a break from WOW

Any idea on the price/availability of this in mochicoins?
Look in the previous thread. Simply CtrlF for mochicoins. It has been answered before by Peter, so I’m 100% you can find it.
@Matthew posting @ January 1, 2011 at 20:49
if possible, please change your name *slightly*, just so to tell us apart… because with several people using the same name… well, there can be a mess (actually, there has already been one, with “Peter”s).
Matthew (the “first” Matthew, though most likely not the first “Matt” around here….) (see what I mean?)
hoping 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
To me this should equal a ban.
If this is the work of a troll, I’d like real GreenToast o respond. For all who did not notice, it’s ruining the site
Whoever this is, they should be BANISHED.
Not funny this time. One of Russian sites (called KaerMorchen) had someone do exactly the same thing, but longer. It completely ruined the site (for example all the paragraphs were now one straight line), until the administrators temporarily locked the comments. It all ended with Registration.
@Matthew on Jan 2, 2011, 19:59: Done, sorry for the confusion :).
@All on mochicoins: I see Peter writing the following: “More and more sites (Armor Games, Kongregate) and systems (Mochicoins, GamerSafe) support server-side storage, and to buy the Unleashed version, the player has to log in to somewhere anyway (but it doesnโt hurt to log in for free play either), saved games will be stored on the server as well as locally (when possible), and seamlessly synchronized when the game loads up.”
This never clearly says (to me anyway) that mochicoins can be used and seems to be discussing ways of saving/storing data. If someone else can shed some light, I would appreciate it.
Also, Peter, how do you feel about the mochicoins model? Espescially the idea that you get no revenue from “free” coins? 60% of something most of the time is better than .0000001% of a view 100% of the time?
Thanks all, appreciate the insight. On second thought, Peter, don’t reply to me. Just hurry up and finish this :D.
@Matthew E: we’re settled, I’ll be “Matthew M” from now on.
also, found something Peter said about mochi option:
on December 23, 2010 at 14:13; Peter says:
“For the first few weeks, the game will be exclusively available on Armor Games, /…/ Later the game will move to Kongregate, Mochi and others as well, (etc…)” (comment from a previous post)
This makes me think there will (most likely) be a mochi option after all (at least later on). How many coins? Peter hasn’t told us yet, so we know not (or maybe he doesn’t know either).
Matthew M (the โfirstโ Matthew)
((just for the record: the previous “Matthew” posts were mine (except for the one I complained about), but I didn’t write any “Matt” posts.))
Thanks guys. This NoRegistration System sucks. But the again, it was said before so no need to reply to me.
I’m sorry I didn’t find the Mochicoins information myself, I was simply too busy, but it seems you two found it anyway.
i don’t like tyhe mochicoin thing because those people don’t have to spend money to get this + everyone will go to mochicoins and be a freeloader + Peter won’t get a profit making the mochicoin thing a bad thing
No – he will. Are you kidding me? Why do you think they offer surveys anyway? Because they don’t bring in revenue? If anything, it opens up the game to a wider audience (including kids who rely on their parents for money – and their parents are reluctant to give away money for an internet game, etc. It helps Peter tap into a wider audience.
Bu the way, how do Mochicoins work? I have heard about them, but was never interested.
Bar, it wont let me comment on you, whenever mochicoins are spent on a game, the creator gets money. Businesses I believe can buy mochicoins and give them away to people who do their surveys (allowing people to trade info for mochicoins, mochicoins for the game) I don’t have any sources besides guessing, so don’t put much weight on my explanation.
I see. Thanks.
